ACCREDITATION

Institutional Accreditation

As noted elsewhere, since its founding in 1974, CULA has been awarded recognition, approval and accreditation by various agencies and sovereign governments. As a private school, City University Los Angeles was first accepted into membership of the Association of Accredited Private SchoolsAs with all forms of accreditation, private and public, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, Distance Education and Training Council, the California State Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Education and other agencies remind consumers that accreditation in the United States of America is awarded by non-US governmental agencies, and "is a process that gives public recognition to institutions that meet certain standards. It is a promise that an institution will provide the quality of education it claims to offer...."  CULA requests your patience during the time it will take to move through any accreditation process.  If you need regional, national, or specialty accreditation ahead of CULA's acquiring same, you might want to enroll after your urgent need has been met.  If you own the company, are already settled in your career, want to pursue a specific area of study, or just want a degree for personal gratification, then CULA is probably one of the best choices you can make.  CULA has been "a worldwide university for accomplished individuals since 1974."

U.S. Department of Education

"Accreditation does not provide automatic acceptance by an institution of credit earned at another institution, nor does it give assurance of acceptance of graduates by employers. Acceptance of students or graduates is always the prerogative of the receiving institution or employer...."

City University Los Angeles is an institution that does not participate in U.S. government's funded educational programs at this time. This means you may not use student loans to enroll.  CULA will not readily consider applications from those who clearly need enrollment in a "regionally accredited" school, or who indicate a preference for 'national' or 'professional' accreditation, and will advise them of their options.  CULA does not discriminate based on sex, religion, race, age, nationality, color, size, economic status, political orientation or other artificial barriers.

"Status Discrimination," An Unlawful Act

It is well for the general public to take noteTHE ACT OF ACCEPTING A GRADUATE SOLELY BECAUSE THE SCHOOL ATTENDED WAS ACCREDITED OR UNACCREDITED, AND NOT BECAUSE THE ALUMNUS IS QUALIFIED IS DEEMED TO BE AN UNLAWFUL ACT OF PRACTICING "STATUS DISCRIMINATION," PUNISHABLE UNDER THE U.S. CONSTITUTION, UNDER THE LAWS OF STATES, AND UNDER THE RULES OF THE GENEVA CONVENTION/WORLD COURT AT THE HAGUE.  To protect the integrity of higher education and in the interest of fair and impartial competition, such arbitrary discrimination practices should be avoided by employers, employment agencies, licensing bodies, those who seek 'verification of credentials,' and all others.  CULA urges compliance by all.
