OPEN ENROLLMENT MEANS STUDENTS MAY APPLY AND ENROLL ALL DURING THE YEAR....

Quick Overview of CULA Web Site "Catalog"

Thank you for your interest in City University Los Angeles, “A Worldwide University for Accomplished Individuals, since 1974!" CULA offers a variety of individually designed degree programs for students to achieve reasonable objectives through its “distance education” model. Some of these titles are listed; many are not. “Click on" a degree title for ‘general information’ about admissions, matriculation and graduation requirements. CULA offers all degree levels, and in several majors or faculties TO QUALIFIED APPLICANTS ONLY, whether you find that degree title listed or not! It is important to take enough time to read the Web Site pages before applying!

CULA computer will not accept Member Application for Enrollment without at least a 10% payment as Registration Fee. ANNUAL TUITION: BA/$5,444; LAW/$5,888; MS/$6,555; DOC/$7,667 every 12 months of enrollment. See Member Application for “cash discounts.” Before submitting, please confirm that you meet CULA admissions requirements.

CULA was approved by US/INS to issue Form I-20 (March 1981). Issuance of a student visa by the US Embassy was not a condition for enrollment. F-1 students were most often already studying in USA but wished to transfer to CULA to save money or to increase their study options, and sometimes to satisfy family needs.  After September 11, 2001 CULA has not renewed its approval for accepting F-1 applications.

All Web Site pages (http://www.cula.edu) constitute CULA’s current “published” catalog or prospectus. You may download or print all or any part of this catalog. If you have an interest in this school, you are urged to take sufficient time to explore this “Web Site Catalog.”  You may phone 310-671-0783 and leave YOUR CALL BACK INFORMATION or call 310-347-5205 for any quick clarifications; otherwise, please use the contact information below.

GENERAL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

THE DEGREE I SEEK IS NOT LISTED:
CULA offers almost any degree to any qualified applicant. Click on named degree (or Directed Studies) for a ‘general idea’ of program requirements. Specific courses are determined after reviewing your prior transcripts.

I AM NOT SURE WHAT ‘DISTANCE EDUCATION’ IS.
This means all course work is completed by guided independent study, without ever having to come to a classroom or campus. CULA’s “examination” procedure requires students to submit written papers, “satisfactory to faculty in form and content” (based upon an Official Study Plan, pre-approved by faculty, with student input).

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Most CULA enrollees are ‘transfer students,’ who need one year or less “to finish” their degree (associate, bachelor, law, master, or doctorate). Tuition is assessed for a 12-month cycle or calendar year. Annual Tuition is paid for each 12-month cycle necessary for YOU to complete academic requirements.  (Note: TUITION for any ASSOCIATE program is the same as for Bachelor programs.)

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I AM ACCEPTED, AND WHAT COURSES I WILL NEED TO COMPLETE BEFORE SUBMITTING ANY MONEY:
Registration Fee is 10% of the Annual Tuition. Since each applying student’s case is unique, it is not possible to predetermine exact courses that will be in your Official Study Plan. Your past academic records tell if you are an acceptable candidate and listed degree titles show “core requirements.” You may opt to design your own program.

MY FORMAL EDUCATION IS LIMITED; I WILL NEED SOME ‘EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING CREDITS’ AWARDED TO ME TO MEET CULA’s ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS:
You are not the only individual who has such need. However, it is not possible to give you any definitive response without, at least, a cursory review of your ‘experiential portfolio’ (resume, curriculum vitae, work experience, accomplishments, positions held, salary commanded, comparative degree level, self-learning equivalencies, etc.). For $100 you may request a formal pre-assessment, WITHOUT FURTHER OBLIGATION.

HOW DO I PROCEED?
Go to
Member Application for Enrollment. Download or complete, and submit via email, fax or ‘snail mail,’ along with the REQUIRED REGISTRATION FEE. If for any reason your Application fails to go forward, only a $100.00 administration fee will be charged/retained and all other funds promptly are refunded. Little or no “financial aid” is available. CULA’s home campus programs are in Rabat, Morocco [North Africa].  Yasser Medkouri, M.B.A., M.D. is the Director of student services on the continent.

CULA is not “ucla/UCLA.” CULA is a private institution; UCLA is the famous public university with the football and basketball teams! They also have a campus and take students out of high school. UCLA is Chancellor Anderson’s Alma Mater.

CULA is approved and accredited in various regions of the world, and is a Member in Good Standing with the ASSOCIATION OF ACCREDITED PRIVATE SCHOOLS, c/o P.O. Box 1530, Marion, South Carolina 29501. CULA uses no US government grants or student financial aid; and, therefore, has never applied for regional accreditation, a current requirement for such government funding.
